Destinations in Central Vietnam Named Destinations to Watch

World Travel Magazine has named several locales in central Vietnam as destinations to watch in 2020. Specifically, the publication noted Dong Hoi, My Son, Hoi An, Hue and Da Nang as destinations. World Travel noted that these destinations offer a wide range of experiences, from natural beauty to history to incredible cuisine.

Vietnam Extends Visa Waiver Program for 8 Countries

The nation of Vietnam will extend its visa waiver program for the citizens of eight countries through 31 December, 2022. Passport-holders from Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Belarus are eligible to visit Vietnam with no visa requirement if up to 15 days. The visa waiver program for citizens from these countries has been in effect since 2015.

Entrance Fee to Beng Mealea Now Included with Angkor

As of 26 December, 2019, entrance fees to Angkor Wat and nearby sites include access to Beng Mealea. Located around 40km from Angkor Wat, much of Beng Mealea is still in ruins or overrun by jungle, giving the destination a different and mysterious feel. It is hoped that the new policy will attract more visitors to Beng Mealea.

Tirant Hotel to Close for Renovations

The property in Hanoi will close for renovations from 5 May to 5 August. The dates are approximate and renovations may take longer or be completed in a shorter time frame, according to the property. After the renovations are complete, the Tirant Hotel is planning to have a more elegant look and feel for guests.
