  • Aman Launches Private Jet Service

    The luxury property management announced that they will now offer private jet service throughout the region. Service will be provided on a Bombardier Global 5000 with 9,630km of range and seating for up to 12 passengers. Staying at an Aman property is not a requirement to use the private jet service. With customs requirements handled by staff, the goal of the private jet service is to allow guests to relax en route to their destinations

  • Vietjet Launches Direct Flight to Pattaya; New Delhi

    The direct flight connecting Saigon and Pattaya at U-Tapao International Airport launched on 23 December and will operate return service daily. The service is approximately 1.5 hours each way, and service will be on the Airbus A320 family of aircraft. The launch of this service marks Vietjet’s eighth direct flight connecting Vietnam and Thailand.


    The low-cost carrier has also recently launched flights connecting Saigon and Hanoi to New Delhi. The Saigon-New Delhi service is offered four times per week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and the Hanoi-New Delhi is offered three times per week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

  • Authorities Approve Plan for Airport in Sapa

    The Ministry of Transport has approved a plan to build a new airport 80km from the mountain destination of Sapa in northwest Vietnam. The airport will serve both military and civilian purposes, and will be large enough to accommodate aircraft such as the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737. The approved airport plan will be large enough to accommodate 3 million passengers per year.

  • RV Kanee Pandaw to Ply the Irrawaddy 

    Cruise ship operator Pandaw has announced the completion of its newest vessel: The RV Kanee Pandaw. With 14 staterooms and and open saloon area for guests, the vessel has a draft of only 80cm, making it ideal for sailing the waters of the Irrawaddy and other rivers in upper Myanmar. The vessel embarked on its first voyage on 18 November, from Yangon to Mandalay, a 14-day cruise. The RV Kanee Pandaw will also offer a 10-day cruise downriver from Mandalay to Yangon.

  • SureStay Hotel Opens in Vientiane

    Best Western Hotels & Resorts opened its latest property in the Lao capital on 19 November with the SureStay Hotel. The property has 68 rooms and suites, and is an easy stroll from the capital’s walking street. Just a 15-minute drive from Wattay International Airport, SureStay Hotel Hotel by Best Western Vientiane also boasts a restaurant, fitness centre and rooftop bar.

  • Lao Airlines to Launch Two New Routes to Japan

    The national airline of Laos has announced new flights to Kumamoto that will launch in March of next year. Service connecting Vientiane and Kumamoto will operate on Wednesday and Sunday, and service connecting Luang Prabang and Kumamoto will run on Monday and Friday. The flights are slated to start on 18 March, 2020. Service will be on an Airbus A320 with 158 seats.

  • Bamboo Airways Takes Delivery of Three New Aircraft

    Vietnam’s newest airline recently took delivery of three new aircraft to its fleet: the Airbus A320neo, A320-200 and Boeing’s 787-9 Dreamliner. Of the three new aircraft, only the A320neo is currently flying for Bamboo Airways. The 2 Airbus A320-200s have not yet begun flying for the airline, and the two Boeing 787-9s are finalizing paperwork before they can begin operations.
