Vietnam Airlines Begins Using Widebody Aircraft Domestically; Deploys Self-Service Kiosks

The national flag carrier began using widebody aircraft on the heavily traveled Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City domestic route to better meet the demands of the travel market. Vietnam Airlines along with its low-cost-carrier brand, Jetstar Pacific, currently operate nearly 40 daily flights between the two cities. The aircraft used on the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route is now the widebody Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Additionally, Vietnam Airlines has deployed self checking kiosks for travellers departing from Hanoi, Da Nang, Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City. This is the first time that the self-service kiosks have been deployed domestically, and it is hoped that they will reduce line and wait times, especially during busy travel periods.
